First structures 2023

We are organizing a workshop this year (4h-8th September 2023) and a conference next year (June 24th-30th 2024, webpage in preparation) to gather the community working on the first phases of cluster and group assembly. The  2023 workshop will be hybrid, with ~50 people in person in Paris, France, and ~30 people connected with zoom. The 2024 conference will be only in person for ~200 people.

This 2023 workshop will concentrate on the presentation and discussion of recent breakthroughs in the field from high-resolution space imaging (JWST, HST) and ground-based spectroscopy from the optical to the radio/submillimeter to the X-ray. The axes of the discussion will be :

- Cluster assembly at z~1.5-4

- Cluster and group galaxy population at z>1.5

- Early-type galaxy formation at z>1.5

- First structures at z~4-10

Simulation and theoretical predictions will be compared with observations, with the goal to let emerge the key questions in the field and the preparation of the 2024 in person conference.

The deadline to pre-register and submit an abstract was July 3rd 2023.

If you would like to participate in remote, the registration remains open till August 11th, the deadline to pay the registration fee. To register, please click on the left column on 'Registration'.
